Our Mission
Step Ahead Dance Studio, LLC is committed to providing the highest quality instruction to dance students of all ages. We firmly believe the dance experience has multiple benefits that affect all aspects of life. It is our goal to instruct students not only in the fine arts of dance, but also to foster in them strong self-confidence, good character traits, and a love of dance and healthfulness that will last a lifetime.
About Us
Step Ahead provides a complete program of dance instruction in the basic disciplines of ballet and tap for students beginning at age three. Students are grouped in classes based on their age and level of experience. As students grow in their skill and ability, they may add classes of different disciplines to enhance their dance experience.
Most classes at Step Ahead Studio are forty-five (45) minutes in length. Intermediate to Advanced Ballet and Pointe classes require more time for mastery of the discipline and as a result, classes are one hour to one and one half hours in length.
Preschool students aged three to six years are taught in combination classes consisting of one-half of the class time in tap and rhythm activities, and the other half of the class time in ballet and creative movement.
Students aged six to nine years have the option of a full Ballet class, Tap class, Jazz class or any combination of these disciplines. Students may also choose to take Hip-Hop and Clogging classes as part of their dance experience. All students are strongly encouraged to take ballet for its emphasis on discipline and technique. Ballet is the most effective form of dance for training the body to move fluidly, and for strengthening and developing the muscles.
Adult beginning or returning students have the opportunity to exercise, increase coordination, strength and flexibility while having fun at the same time. Classes for adults include Jazz, Tap, and Clogging.
Classes are held at convenient times in the evenings to accommodate working parents and active families.
